And A Closed Book

I finished editing my novel today. I thought it would take much longer. Now the scary part: print it out and let DH read it. I hope he's kind.

Jules, you wrote a NOVEL!? That's a very big deal; I'm so impressed. A NOVEL!!! Any hints about what it's about or is it a secret? I love reading, but only have time for instructional stuff these days it seems. I do miss reading fiction. I enjoy writing, but I don't know if I have the wherewithal to write something as intertwined as a novel. Very cool. Can you share the title? Or the premise? Or anything? lol... :)

Briefly, it's a novel for 11-14 year olds and follows the lives of 3 young people as they make a new life in the new colony of Australia (where else?). It's about love (for family, for friends, and for country), courage and faith.

This is not the first novel I've written. I wrote a novel-length story as a child but (thankfully) it's no longer around. I've also written another novel but after finishing it felt that it was far from ready to be published (I've still got it and might just use some parts of it one day). This one is the first one that I've felt is anywhere near ready to be sent off to a publisher. I know it may never get published but I think I'm now ready to give it a go.

Hope that answers some of your questions.
