It Rained ... It Poured

It rained ... it poured ... we could have got more use out of the umbrellas I'd rushed out and bought yesterday had it not been so windy (and I can't remember the last time I felt compelled to use an umbrella). Yet from the luncheon at the university ... to the official photos on campus ... to the graduation ceremony ... to the walk in the rain down the street to the town square ... to the framing of his "bit" of paper that represents four years' hard work ... to the hot drinks in the cafe to warm up ... to dinner where he continued to wear his gown, it was a wonderful day.

There are only so many public moments in a child's life where the parents are able to shout to the world that they are proud of their offspring without being dismissed as bores or worse.

Today was one of those days.

And despite protestations and initial reluctance on Son#3's part, I have a sneaking suspicion that in the end he ended up enjoying it just a little bit.

But only a little bit.

I also think it's a good thing he doesn't realise just how handsome he looked.

(Better photos to come later.)
