Boxing Day

Not exactly the way we expected to spend a rainy Boxing Day afternoon. Son#1 and DIL#1 had gone shopping and left The Most Adorable Granddaughters#1-#3 with us for just a short time. Rather than the pleasant afternoon they had devised for themselves, they received a phone call which caused them to rush back to our home.

Despite there being no boxing, there were a few injuries, and a v-e-r-y long wait for an ambulance. Just before the ambulance arrived, we had a downpour that flooded our driveway!

Still smiling despite two broken bones. What a brave little girl!

Amazingly, the hospital's emergency room was not busy despite the time of year and the town's annual Boxing Day event that often results in an overflowing emergency room and operating theatres. I guess the overflowing was happening elsewhere (as in our driveway).

Even though The Most Adorable Granddaughters#1-#3 received a trampoline for Christmas, it was while sitting with Uncle#4 on a low window box and listening to him reading a book that The Most Adorable Granddaughter#2 fell and broke her arm. What a story that will make at her twenty-first!
