Cranberry and Choc Chip Muesli Slice

I think it was Elizabeth who said that a recipe post was 'safe'. It's not controversial, you're not exposing your most vulnerable side, and since I somehow deleted some particularly gorgeous photos of yours truly with the granddaughters (you'll have to take my word for it) I can't do my original post. Besides, it can be fun to share recipes with friends. I adapted this recipe to come up with a yummy nutritious slice that is perfect for snack time. It can be easily doubled and keeps well in an airtight container. My DIL#1 liked the original recipe but the rest of us thought it was a little bland - hence the reason for adjusting it. I like anything with dried cranberries (craisins we call them) but you could substitute whatever dried fruit you have on hand. I think walnuts or pecans would also work quite well in this recipe. My recipe: 2-1/2 cups rolled oats 3/4 cup desiccated coconut (optional - you can use all, some, or omit it altogether) 1 cup dark choc bits

Adapting Short Row Heels (A Knitting Post)

(Please note: if you are not a knitter or have put down your needles for the Northern summer, you probably won't be interested in this post. Its purpose is to share my experiments and failures and to give me access to my notes in the future when I've forgotten what I've done and how I felt about the various steps. Re-Sole-Able Sock Pattern

Finally. It's been a long time coming but I have managed to gather together all the info for how I knit resoleable socks. It can be found here . I have started knitting all my socks this way again. Partly because I like being able to easily replace the sole/heels/toes, partly because it seems to go much quicker for me, partly because I want to. I don't mind the small amount of time required after binding off to seam the sole and instep together. I find it rather relaxing in fact. But then I like hand sewing. If you dread it, this pattern is definitely not for you. I completed a pair of socks last weekend and posted them off to Son#5.
