It's been over a month since our most severe restrictions were lifted, and since the beginning of this month, apart from border closures, life has been pretty much back to normal.
Except it hasn't.
DH has been working crazy hours, I've been doing more hours than is good for me, and we've been spending weekends catching up with family.
Which is lovely. But also exhausting. It seriously feels as if we have been ten times busier than at any other time in our life as we play catch up with work and family and life; and Level 4 Lockdown, where things were slower, there was no traffic, and it didn't matter if the house ever got cleaned, is a distant memory.
A part of me wants that memory back. Apart from not being able to see family. I don't want to swap that for anything, but I do miss the slower pace of life on all fronts.
On the other hand, being able to sit around the table and celebrate a birthday with one of The Most Adorable Granddaughters and not have to keep to ten persons or less, is definitely a plus in a family our size.
So I guess I'll take the stress and the crazy and hope that things settle down soon. And enjoy the making of more wonderful heart-warming memories with some of the most beautiful people on this planet (and it helps that the scenery is pretty stunning at times, too) ...

It never hurts to be armed with homemade gifts when descending on the family for an hour or a day or a weekend! These ones are packed with goodies such as Epsom salts, Dead Sea salts, Himalayan salt, lavender essential oil, rose essential oil, and dried rose petals (I'd leave these out next time as, while pretty, they have to be picked out of the bath if you fail to use a muslin bag to contain them). I made an extra jar for us - so we just need things to settle down so we can enjoy a nice long soak and actually de-stress.
