A Beginning

The Christmas tree was delivered three days ago. For two days it stood sad and lonely until some one took pity on it and hung the lights on it. I've been trying to get the boys to get the decorations out and put them on the tree but no one's interested.

Wasn't it just yesterday that decorating the tree was a fun family thing to do? What happened?

What a pretty tree! It's different from the kind of trees we have here and I really like how it's different!

When my son, Jesse, was young we'd decorate the tree together and have a lot of fun, but as he got older, he lost interest. He loved having a Christmas tree in the house though. One year when I got laid off from a job right before Christmas and couldn't afford a tree (and was quite depressed because of the layoff), Jesse spent his own money and bought a tree, put it up and decorated it all by himself to surprise me. It was a bad Christmas financially that year, but it was wonderful in other ways.

I hope we get to see a picture of your tree all dressed up! I bet everyone will "come around" soon! :)

You can almost hear it saying, "Put things on me!" :). I hope you can get your boys motivated to help you decorate soon. Maybe play some Christmas music and get all the stuff out. Maybe once they see the decorations they will change their minds.

That is such a pretty tree. I guess guys just aren't as into decorating as women are.

I have a trick up my sleeve. It's called "The Most Adorable Granddaugher in the World". I suspect that if I invite her around to decorate the tree, the uncles will get involved. She'll just have to hold up a decoration and say a name, and they'll quickly jump up and put it on the tree for her. So all is not lost. I'm just waiting for the right moment! LOL
