The Most Delightful Charming Grandson#1 (aka Grandchild#8) timed his arrival to coincide with School Holidays which has meant I've been able to spend a delightful week with this charming wee man. I have a sneaking suspicion that I'm not going to want to go home. Actually, one can hardly call it sneaking since even DH commented that I'm not going to like him when he comes back up to take me home.
In the meantime, I've had lots of wonderful cuddles, have improved my selfie-taking skills somewhat for someone of my demographic (critical when one is cuddling a sleeping baby while everyone else is asleep and one is wanting to capture every cute facial expression and gesture - even if one does edit oneself out of every photo), knitted a few pairs of baby socks (after Son#1 complained that commerical ones didn't stay on - these ones do so I'll write up the pattern in another post), finished two grown-up pairs that I brought with me and cast on another pair for the trip home, and trimmed my hair with embroidery scissors (not recommended) while talking to DH on the phone (I desperately need a hair cut but just taking 4cm off has made it feel a heap better). Hopefully, I've also been able to help Son#3 and DIL#3 around the house and with meals, athough it seems that DIL#3 was extremely organised (even if she did leave cleaning the oven and washing the dog until she was in labour - and a short labour at that).
