Due to recent events, DH and I had fully expected that this year would be the first year in over forty years we would be making Christmas puddings alone. It's been quite a few years since all the family were able to gather to be involved, but we've usually had some family members to keep the tradition alive.
However, this year we thought it would not be possible. But, we didn't count on Son#4 and his family coming for the same weekend that The Most Adorable Granddaughters#1-#3 were staying over. Realising it was happening, and that The Most Charming Grandson#3 and The Most Adorable Granddaughter#11 had never had the privilege of being involved, we decided to take the opportunity to continue the tradition, despite other commitments already filling up part of the weekend.
The younger members of the family took up the challenge with gusto, and, as always, there was lots of mess, lots of eating, and a job well done.
